SERIAL BANK ROBBER: FBI searching for 'Fake Hair Don't Care Bandit'

WASHINGTON - The FBI is asking for help to identify a woman who has robbed five banks in the D.C. area.

The serial bank robber has been named the "Fake Hair Don't Care Bandit" because she has worn a wig and sunglasses during these robberies while also carrying various oversized bags, according to the FBI.

The suspect is described as a black woman in her late 20s to early 30s, 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds.

During each robbery, she passed a note to the teller demanding money and fled the bank on foot after receiving the currency.

The five robberies took place in 2016 and 2017:

- May 23, 2016: Bank of America at 4301 49th Street, Northwest D.C.
- May 27, 2016: Wells Fargo, 5201 MacArthur Boulevard, Northwest D.C.
- May 28, 2016: Wells Fargo, 4965 Elm Street, Bethesda, Maryland
- June 20, 2017: Capital One, 5714 Connecticut Avenue, Northwest D.C.
- August 1, 2017: Bank of America, 7520 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, Maryland
