Fallen Prince George's Co. deputy remembered as her son graduates from high school

Members of the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office got to take part in a very special day with the son of a fallen deputy.

Devin Magruder walked the stage on Tuesday graduating from Surrattsville High School. The ceremony was held at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro.

Devin is the son of fallen Deputy First Class Elizabeth Magruder. The 30-year-old was shot and killed along with Sgt. James Arnaud in 2002 while they attempted to serve a psychiatric petition to a 23-year-old man at his home in Adelphi.

Magruder and Arnaud are the first line-of-duty deaths in the history of the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office. Devin was only 3 years old when his mother died.

Elizabeth Magruder served with the department for 18 months and was posthumously promoted to Private First Class.
