Dog rescued from under a tree by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue

A dog was rescued by Fairfax County fire crews after he got stuck under a tree.

Officials say the pup became stuck while chasing a groundhog and wound up under large roots of a 40-foot tree.

The owner could not find him, but heard him whimpering and called authorities to help him get out. Rescue crews from Truck 429, Tysons Corner C-Shift came to help.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue say they were able to free the dog by digging and using a hand saw to get him free.
