A senior student at H.D. Woodson High School in Northeast D.C. received a huge honor from his fellow students.

Raymond Harper suffers from Type 3 spinal muscular atrophy and requires the use of a wheelchair to get around.

One of Harper's dreams was to become homecoming king. At a pep rally in the school's gym on Friday, Harper's dream finally came true as he received the crown in front of a cheering crowd filled with his classmates.

H.D. Woodson principal Darrin Slade said Harper is truly a great kid.

"You can tell he's happy, he loves coming to school," said Slade. "You can tell all the students love him. The whole school loves him. He's just one of our best students in the building."

Congratulations to Harper on his crowning achievement!
