WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A D.C. firefighter has been arrested on armed robbery and assault charges in Montgomery County.
Police say Davon Alfred Moore is accused of robbing a person at gunpoint at around noon on Dec. 20 at Georgia Avenue and East West Highway in Silver Spring.
According to investigators, Moore had arranged through the OfferUp app to meet with the victim to buy a pair of $700 Christian Louboutin Louis Orlato Holographic sneakers. However, when they met, there was a disagreement between the two, and Moore displayed a handgun to the victim and left the area with the shoes.
Moore was later identified by detectives as the suspect and he was arrested on Monday. The 24-year-old was released two days later after posting $5,000 bond.
Moore is facing charges of armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and theft between $100 and $1,500, according to Montgomery County police.
D.C. fire officials told FOX 5 that Moore, a four-year veteran of the department, is on leave pending the results of criminal proceedings.
