Case ruled homicide 11 years after DC man was stabbed

D.C. police say a man who was stabbed in 2004 has died 11 years later from complications of the stab wounds he received. Now, his case has been ruled a homicide.

Darren McManus, 54, was stabbed during an assault in June 2004 in the 4700 block of Sheriff Road in Northeast D.C. He was hospitalized and later released. In May 2015, McManus died after being admitted to the hospital the previous month. After an autopsy, his cause of death was determined to be complications of stab wounds to the chest.
