Farragut West Metro station reopened after unsubstantiated threat reported, officials say

The Farragut West Metro station has been reopened after an unsubstantiated threat sparked a police investigation Monday evening, according to officials.

Authorities said a bomb threat was reported at about 4:20 p.m. and people were evacuated from the train station.

Metro ordered orange, blue and silver line trains to be temporarily bypassed the train station and shuttle buses were requested.

Officials said the Metro station was reopened and service was running normally again.
