BETHESDA, Md. - I-495 near Maryland 190 was at a standstill for over three hours Saturday afternoon due to a vehicle fire.
According to Maryland State Highway Administration officials, a Recreational Vehicle caught fire on the Inner Loop of the Beltway near MD 190 at around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Montgomery County Fire Department responded to the scene and along with Maryland State Police, they shut down both sides of the Beltway.
It took firefighters about 2 hours to put the fire out and at some point they had to pull back because there were propane tanks in the vehicle.
No one was injured.
There is no word as to what caused the fire.
