Baby born on I-66 work zone in Fairfax County

Move on over! A baby was born on I-66 early Sunday, Virginia Department of Transportation officials say.

A car pulled into a work zone on I-66 "safely and causing no harm" early Sunday morning.

The birth came quickly, as Fairfax County Fire EMS crews arrived to assist the mom in labor.

"The car went from HOV-2 to HOV-3 when Mom gave birth," said VDOT.

Luckily the very-much-expecting parents were able to find a place to stop as the little one was arriving.

First responders took the parents and new baby to the hospital.

"Safe work zones benefit all. Love to the family!" said VDOT.
