Awesome Con arrives in DC this weekend

- Calling all geeks! Get your costumes ready, because Awesome Con is this weekend in D.C.!

Awesome Con is Washington D.C.'s version of San Diego's Comic Con, or comic convention, where fans of pop-culture gather to celebrate comic books, collectibles, games, and cosplay.
It is happening this weekend, Friday through Sunday, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at Mt. Vernon Square.
A 3-day weekend pass costs $80, while individual day passes are going for $40 a piece. To purchase tickets, click here.

The convention will feature celebrity guests David Tennant from "Doctor Who," former president of Marvel Comics Stan Lee, former International Space Station commander Col. Chris Hadfield, and World Wrestling Entertainment stars Charlotte Flair and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Events include discussion panels, costume contests, trivia contests, gaming tournaments, and activities for kids.
On Friday, a panel discussion will investigate how to make money from artificial intelligence systems. There will also be a a stunt coalition workshop in the backlot focusing on swordplay. If you are single, you should try the first of the event's three Sci-Fi Speed Dating session that evening.
Hear from Library of Congress staff members who will be sharing highlights from the Library's pop culture sections on Saturday. Later on, learn how to improve your writing skills to make your work more marketable for the industry with a panel discussion called "Writing With Purpose."
Take cosplay to the next level on Sunday with "How to Run a Cosplay Related Business" where you will learn about how to turn an enjoyable hobby into a profitable career. 
If you're a wrestling fan, you won't want to miss the Awesome Con tradition, "Pro-Wrestling Today," led by Underground Pro Wrestling journalist, Marco Dela Cuesta to discuss the past year's notable events in the pro wrestling world.
