STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) — The Queen Anne's County Drug Task Force has made two arrests after they say they uncovered a marijuana farm almost directly across the street from an Eastern Shore high school.
Authorities say they searched a home Oct. 6 near Stevensville's Kent Island High School and arrested 32-year-old Samantha Sittle inside the home. Officers then arrested their primary suspect, 33-year-old Vincent Arcand, as he left for work.
Inside the house, investigators say they found hashish, firearms and about $50,000 worth of marijuana plants and marijuana packaged for sale.
Investigators say a shed on the property contained a hydroponic grow operation that had 22 marijuana plants growing.
Arcand and Sittle face several charges each, including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in a school zone. It is unclear whether they have attorney.
