Annual Capital Tree lighting lights up DC

The annual Capital Tree Lighting arrived on Thursday evening - after being rescheduled out of respect for the passing of former President George HW Bush.

This year's tree was sponsored by the Oregon Congressional Delegation and selected from the Willamette National Forest.

The tree was harvested in early November, and it traveled to the nation's capital by truck, making several stops along the way.

The tree was decorated with handcrafted ornament - thousands of them made by Oregon residents.
