Anne Arundel County student arrested for having loaded gun at school after video on social media

- An Anne Arundel County student has been charged after he reportedly brought a loaded handgun to school.

Anne Arundel County police say they were notified of a video on social media on Tuesday evening showing an unidentified male with a handgun. They say the video appeared to be recorded in a school.

Police investigated and arrested 18-year-old Maleek Benjamin, a student at Old Mill High School in Glen Burnie, Md.

Investigators say Old Mill's School Resource Officer was immediately notified, located the student with assistance of school officials and recovered a loaded revolver handgun in his coat pocket.

Benjamin is charged with possession of a firearm under 21, having a dangerous weapon on school property, and having a loaded handgun on him.

No injuries were reported.
