An Amber Alert has been canceled after a 3-year-old Virginia boy from Chesterfield County was located safe, Virginia State Police say.

Before he was found, police had been searching for Cayden Thomas Merchant after he was reportedly last seen in North Chesterfield at around 6:30 p.m. Monday and was believed to be in extreme danger.

According to police, the young child was likely to have been with 40-year-old James Benjamin King traveling in a 2016 red Hyundai Elantra with Virginia tag XWS-1828.

Despite the boy being found, police say King remains at-large.

King is described as a black male, 5'1" tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has brown eyes and short afro hair. King was last seen wearing a Deadpool insignia t-shirt with light-colored blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.
