Alexandria man shoots Jeep during road-rage incident on Interstate 395, Virginia State Police say

A man is accused of firing at a car on Interstate 395 in Alexandria during a road-rage-dispute Tuesday evening, according to officials.

Virginia State Police said the driver of a Jeep Compass was heading north on I-395 when it changed lanes to exit on Seminary Road at about 5 p.m. While changing lanes the Jeep almost hit a Ford Fusion, according to police.

Authorities said the driver of the Ford, identified by officials as 56-year-old Adan Caraballo of Alexandria, sped past the Jeep and fired a shot at the vehicle.

The driver of the Jeep followed Caraballo back onto I-395 and then onto Washington Boulevard.
As the vehicles traveled down Washington Boulevard the driver of the Jeep waved down an officer from the Pentagon and explained that his vehicle had been struck by something from the Ford.

The officer pulled the Ford over and officials said Caraballo's firearm was secured. Authorities said a bullet hole was discovered in the rear passenger door on the driver's side of the Jeep and a bullet was recovered inside the vehicle.

The driver of the Jeep and his passenger were not injured during the incident.

Caraballo was taken into custody and charged with brandishing a firearm and shooting at an occupied vehicle. Detectives said their investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
