9-year-old dies after falling off boat, struck by propeller near Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. - A 9-year-old was killed in a boat accident near Ocean City after being struck by the boat's propeller, Maryland Natural Resources Police said.

According to police, shortly before 3 p.m., the 9-year-old victim along with an 11-year-old were struck by the propeller after they both fell from the boat. The 9-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene while the 11-year-old suffered lacerations and was taken to a local hospital.

The accident happened at Sinepuxent Bay nearby Assateague State Park.
