6-month-old left in car at Metro parking lot

SILVER SPRING, Md. -
A 6-month-old baby was accidentally left in a car at the Forest Glen Metro station parking lot, Metro said.

Around 7 a.m. Wednesday, the baby's father, 31, parked his car and got on the Red Line to go to work.

Three hours later, around 10:18 a.m., the father called authorities to say that he accidentally left his son in the parked vehicle.

Montgomery County Fire and EMS broke a window in the car and took the baby to Holy Cross Hospital. The baby is conscious, but he has an elevated temperature, Metro said.

Police are talking to the father and the case is being referred to the Montgomery County Department of Social Services.
