4 people arrested for attempting to break into a home with an ax while drunk in Stafford County
STAFFORD, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - Police in Stafford County say they arrested four people for attempting to break into a home with an ax while intoxicated.
Police say on Friday, they were called to a domestic incident at a home on the 500 block of Eskimo Hill Road in Stafford.
A woman at the home told Stafford County Sheriff's deputies that she had been assaulted by several people outside who had attempted to break into the house with an ax and had threatened to burn it down.
Deputies found three women and a man standing near a car and an ax near the front door, which had numerous dents and scuff marks on it.
Police say one of the suspects, 21-year-old Taylor House, became belligerent and appeared to be intoxicated.
House, as well as three others, 52-year-old Tina Lara and 22-year-old Dakota Lara-Bayliss, both from Stafford, and 25-year-old Taylor Kennaugh, 25, of Fredericksburg had come to the victim's house to confront her about an alleged theft.
The victim at the home told officials she had received several texts from Lara-Bayliss saying that she was coming with several other people to her home.
She told investigators that she was standing on her front porch when the group arrived, and was then assaulted by Lara and House. She reportedly went back inside the residence and locked the door.
The four suspects then tried to force their way into the home using an ax, Sheriff's deputies say.
Officials say the four suspects were arrested and taken to the Magistrate's Office.
Kennaugh was released on an unsecured bond. He was charged with assault and battery by mob and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.
The other three suspects were incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail. House was charged with assault and battery by mob, assault and battery, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, and public intoxication.
Lara-Bayliss was charged with assault and battery by mob, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, and public intoxication.
Lara was charged with assault and battery by mob, assault and battery, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, and public intoxication.
Police obtained additional warrants on Saturday and took all four subjects were taken back into custody and received additional charges of conspiracy to commit a felony offense. House was also charged with threats to bomb/burn.
