4 injured in drive-by shooting on New York Ave., DC police say

D.C. police are investigating after a drive-by shooting that left four people injured Monday morning. The shooting happened in the 3800 block of New York Avenue NE.

Police say just before 2 a.m., they discovered the four men, all of whom had been shot. Officers used tourniquets to try to help the victims at the scene.

All of the victims were conscious when they were taken to area hospitals for treatment. No specific details were immediately available about their conditions, and they have not yet been identified.

FOX 5's Melanie Alnwick reported the crime scene appeared to be very large, with shell casings scattered across a long stretch of New York Ave.

The eastbound lanes of New York Ave. NE were temporarily closed from Bladensburg Road to South Dakota Avenue NE due to the shooting investigation, but the road reopened just before 6 a.m.
