$33,000 worth of synthetic drugs seized in Prince George's Co.

Prince George's County police say they have taken more than $33,000 worth of synthetic drugs off the streets. As part of a months-long investigation, police seized 1,652 packets of synthetic drugs and paraphernalia from three businesses:

"It's critical our business owners know we won't tolerate the illegal sale of these very dangerous substances," said Major Jason Bogue of the Narcotic Enforcement Division. "Synthetics are like crack on steroids. The high is similar to the high a person gets after smoking PCP and the results can be equally as catastrophic."

Police say synthetic marijuana is not a widespread problem in the county, but they are working with the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office to develop legislation to combat the substance.
