3 firefighters injured battling blaze in Northeast DC

Authorities say three firefighters and an occupant of a home were hospitalized after being injured in a house fire in Northeast, D.C.

The blaze was reported around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of 12th Street. All three floors of the house were damaged and a partial collapse that trapped one of the firefighters was reported.

One occupant and the three firefighters were hospitalized. The firefighters have since been released from the hospital and are recovering at home. The occupant remains hospitalized with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
