2nd Suitland Popeyes double murder suspect arrested, Prince George's County police announce

A second suspect wanted in the murders of two men outside a Popeyes restaurant in Suitland, Maryland back in July has been taken into custody, according to officials.

Prince George's County police announced on Monday that 28-year-old Robert Suesbury of Northwest D.C. was arrested in connection with the murders of 23-year-old Anthony Douglas and 22-year-old Courtney Simms outside a Popeyes in an alleyway in the 4600 block of Silver Hill Road the evening of July 9.

On July 24, authorities announced 19-year-old old Jharrod Armstrong of Northwest D.C. was arrested for the murders.

Detectives released surveillance video of the suspects in hopes of identifying and locating them. At the time of the surveillance video being released, officials said they were trying to identify a third suspect.

Investigators said they believe the suspects intended to rob Douglas and Simms. Suesbury and Armstrong have both been charged with first and second-degree murder.
