The National Capital Area Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) hostedt the Northern Virginia Light The Night Walk on Saturday, at the Reston Town Center.
LLS is calling upon local residents to join the fight against blood cancers, the leading cause of cancer death of Americans under the age of 20, by participating in this event.
Teams of co-workers, families, and friends walked at twilight carrying illuminated lanterns honoring patients, survivors, and loved ones lost. Champions For Cures, those walkers who raised $100 or more, enjoyed live music, food and beverages, and family activities.
Walkers raised funds in honor of local Honored Heroes, patients or survivors of blood cancer who provide inspiration and support.
The next two events are on October 10th in Rockville and October 17th at the Freedom Plaza in D.C.
