2 teens arrested for Alexandria school threats

Two teenagers have been arrested for a series of recent bomb threats targeting schools in Alexandria.

The Alexandria Police Department said a 13-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were charged with making threats to schools in the Alexandria City Public Schools on social media.

According to police, the boy was charged with making threats to bomb Francis C. Hammond Middle School and the girl was charged with making threats to bomb George Washington Middle School.

Francis C. Hammond Middle School was evacuated at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday due to the threat.
