2 more teens arrested for setting man on fire in Annandale

Fairfax County police say two more teenagers have been arrested for their involvement in setting a man on fire during an attempted robbery over the weekend in Annandale.

According to police, the victim was assaulted by several juveniles and set on fire in the 4500 block of Commons Drive at around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday after he was found by officers with burns on his clothes and backpack.

Police say two 15-year-olds are facing charges of attempted robbery and malicious wounding and have been taken to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. A 14-year-old boy was also arrested on Sunday.

Investigators say the teenage suspects planned to rob the man of his backpack. While the victim was sleeping, the juvenile suspects set fire to his backpack.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated for injuries to his upper body. He has since been released from the hospital.

Police say they believe they have arrested all of the suspects involved in this case.

The incident is not believed to be gang-related, police say.
