19-year-old charged in slaying in Alexandria park

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A 19-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of another man in an Alexandria park.

Fairfax County police say 19-year-old Michael Powell was charged Thursday in the death of Khalid Aboumalik. Powell was captured by a fugitive task force that included U.S. Marshals. He's being held without bond.

Aboumalik's body was found in the morning of Aug. 5 in Huntington Park.

Police have not disclosed a motive in the slaying.
