17-year-old boy charged in Alexandria-area slaying

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A teenager is the second person to be charged in the robbery and slaying of a 42-year-old man in an Alexandria-area park.

Fairfax County police say the teen had already been charged with robbery and was charged Wednesday with murder in the death of Khalid Aboumalik. The slaying occurred on Aug. 5 in Huntington Park.

Police did not release the boy's name because he is a juvenile. Police say the boy and the victim knew each other.

Nineteen-year-old Michael Powell is also facing charges in Aboumalik's death. He was charged in August with second-degree murder.

Police say the slaying remains under investigation and it's possible that other people could be charged.
