16-year-old boy hit by car in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - A 16-year-old boy was hit by a car in Gaithersburg late Saturday evening.

Maryland State Police say that a group of children was running across I-370 near Washingtonian Boulevard when one of them was hit by a car.

A Montgomery County police officer witnessed the accident at around 11 p.m., according to officials.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital. Police say the driver of the car stayed at the scene.

The condition of the child is unknown.
