13-year-old Woodbridge boy arrested in attempted abduction of woman, police say

A 13-year-old boy was arrested in the attempted abduction of a 36-year-old woman in Woodbridge, according to authorities.

Prince William County police said they responded to a call in the area of Elm Farm Road and Pennington Lane at about 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Investigators said the woman was walking along Elm Farm Road when she noticed a teen following her on a bicycle. The suspect got off the bike, sprinted toward the woman and grabbed her, according to police.

Authorities said the teen tried to drag the woman into the middle of the road, but she was able to scream and get away from the suspect.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident, according to officials.

Investigators said they identified the suspect as a 13-year-old boy of Woodbridge. He was detained without incident and was charged with abduction, police stated.
