Official: Teen arrested for knifepoint robberies nearby Wilson High School; 2 others sought

- A D.C. council member said police have arrested a teenager involved in two armed robberies in the District. Two other suspects are being sought.

On Tuesday night, within ten minutes of each other, two people were robbed by a group at knifepoint. It happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of River Road and Brandywine Street in Northwest D.C. while the other occurred just a few blocks away in the 4000 block of Chesapeake Street located nearby Wilson High School.

Councilmember Mary Cheh told FOX 5 that one of the victims was a Wilson High School student.

We have not been able to get any information from police, but Cheh called a police commander and was able to confirm an arrest. She said police have arrested one teenager and are searching for her sister and her boyfriend. Cheh also said that she was informed this group may have been connected to a similar crime along Volta Place.

When a crime alert was sent out from police Tuesday night, police were looking for two females and one male.

Cheh said that she thought the two sisters were juveniles, but was not sure about the male involved. She said she was told the suspects are not from this area and did not go to the high school.

The council member is praising the work of police in the robbery investigation.
