Street closures and traffic restrictions during 2016 Nuclear Security Summit

FOX 5's Marina Marraco reports.

- The 2016 Nuclear Security Summit is expected to bring significant traffic disruptions in Washington D.C. as leaders from more than 50 countries will be in attendance.

The large gathering has even led the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to encourage federal agencies to allow employees to telework on Thursday and Friday to alleviate the increased traffic congestion in the D.C. area.

Due to the summit, Metro will close the Mount Vernon Square station starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday evening. All Green and Yellow line trains will continue to run through the Mount Vernon station without stopping. All other Metro stations will be open during the summit.

There will be numerous street closures and parking restrictions during the Nuclear Summit (Click here to view map of street closings):
