WASHINGTON - Police are investigating a report of a rape at a prestigious D.C. school attended by the children of many of Washington's elite, including the daughters of President Barack Obama.
According to police, the alleged incident happened at Sidwell Friends School at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Wisconsin Avenue campus. It involved a male student and female student – both in their upper teens.
It was reported a few hours later Wednesday night and the police mobile crime unit went to the school to photograph the scene.
A D.C. police spokesperson said this is an active and ongoing investigation and no one has been arrested so far. But we are told the alleged victim and suspect were both questioned by police.
A source told FOX 5 the alleged rape happened in a bathroom in the athletic building.
According to the police report, the two students had a previous sexual relationship. But on this occasion, the victim said the male student forced her to have sexual intercourse without her consent.
A spokesperson for the school said in a statement, "It is the longstanding policy of Sidwell Friends School to cooperate fully with any law enforcement investigation. It is also our policy not to comment on such investigations."
The school is currently closed for spring break.
