Implosion of buildings in Scotland fails

A crowd in Glasgow gathered to watch the implosion of a group of buildings - but there was just one problem. When the dust clears, two apartment buildings are still partly standing.

The Red Road Flats were considered an iconic grouping of high-rise apartments on the Glasgow skyline since they were built in the 1960s. The aging monoliths were a prime example of post-war British high-rise building. When they were built, they were considered to be the answer to the city's housing problem but they became rundown and vandalized.

The city's housing association will now have to complete the demolition at a later date.
