Ice blamed for accident that sent school bus off road in Montgomery County

POTOMAC, Md - Ice is to blame for an early morning school bus accident in Montgomery County. The accident happened around 9 a.m. on Tulip Lane near Glenn Mill Road in Potomac, Md.

Photos posted by Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service show the bus off of the side of the road into a wooded area.

Officials say the driver and several passengers were on board at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the bus drove onto an icy patch while going up a hill and slid backwards off of the road.

The investigation is continuing. Drivers can expect some delays in the area.
