Howard County police charge caregiver with elder abuse

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — Howard County police have charged a caregiver at an Ellicott City assisted living facility with abusing a 93-year-old man.

Police say they have charged 26-year-old Christina Renee Randall of Baltimore with second-degree assault and abuse of a vulnerable adult.

Police say the victim's family members installed a camera in his room at Lighthouse Senior Living on North Ridge Road after becoming concerned for his safety.

Police say footage shows Randall pushing and hitting the victim, and say the man had bruises on his torso and arm.

Police say Randall posted $7,500 bail and has been released.

A call to an attorney listed for Randall was not immediately returned.
