2 DC high school dismissal times changed after fights between students

WASHINGTON - Dismissal times at two D.C. public high schools will be changed after an increasing number of fights between students at the rival campuses have been reported.

Starting on Monday, the dismissal time at McKinley Technology High School will change to 3:05 p.m. The dismissal time for students at Dunbar High School students will be moved to 3:25 p.m. Start times at both schools will also change.

School leaders say that the changes are being made to keep students safe before and after school.

A large fight between students at the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station last week may have triggered the change.
