JUST FOR ONE DAY! Send Wisconsin Avenue 'Packing' and make it Washington Ave!

The Washington Redskins are gearing up to face Green Bay this Sunday at FedEx Field in the first round of the playoffs.

But there will be no welcome wagon waiting for the Packers once they get to D.C.!

And that even includes being able to drive down Wisconsin Avenue -- one of the main arteries in and out of our city!

Who knows -- the team might purposely drive down Wisconsin Avenue on their way to the stadium Sunday hoping to find some hidden inspiration. They might try to turn our roadway into their own good luck charm!

So -- in the spirit of friendly competition and good fun -- we at FOX 5 make this proposal to D.C.'s Mayor Muriel Bowser and local officials.

Rename Wisconsin Avenue, NW to Washington Avenue, NW -- just for this Sunday while we take on the Pack!

Here is a copy of the petition we will present to Mayor Bowser. (PRINT YOUR COPY HERE.)

Print one out, sign it, take a selfie with it, and post it on our Facebook page. Share it on your pages too and don't forget to use the hashtags: #WashingtonAve and #HTTRon5.

Don't worry. The change won't be permanent.

We'll change it back to Wisconsin Avenue after the Redskins win!
