Former Montgomery Co. school custodian charged after impregnating teen he met on Facebook

A former Montgomery County Public Schools custodian is accused of impregnating a 15-year-old girl he met on the internet.

Gary Anthony Stanback, 27, of Frederick, has been charged with one count of third-degree sex offense, according to officials. Last November, Stanback met the teen on Facebook, according to court documents.

They eventually met face-to-face and engaged in sexual intercourse. The 15-year-old teen later found out that she was pregnant - she panicked and told her mother who reported the incident to police.

Police obtained a warrant for Stanback's arrest on June 1 and they arrested him on July 29. The school district only found out about the arrest on Tuesday.

The school district says he quit his job as a custodian before he was arrested. Montgomery County Public Schools released this letter to parents on Tuesday:

One mother told FOX 5 she addresses these issues directly with her daughter.

"I make sure I keep her aware of everything, if anyone hits on you -- teachers, janitors, you tell mommy and I'll take care of it. Just be aware you got to be very aware with your children. You have to protect where your kids are," said Tiffany Wade, a concerned Montgomery County Public Schools parent.

Stanback worked at three different schools in Montgomery County: Montgomery Village Middle School, Roberto Clemente Middle School and Paint Branch High School.

If you or your children have any information that could help this investigation you should contact Montgomery County police special victims unit.
