Firefighter injured battling commercial building fire in northeast DC

A firefighter was injured while fighting a two-alarm blaze in northeast D.C. Wednesday morning.

The fire began around 2:30 a.m. at a commercial building complex that houses multiple businesses in the 3100 block of Bladensburg Road.

The injured firefighter was believed to have suffered from heat exhaustion.

Several roads and intersections in the area were closed while emergency crews responded. They have all since been reopened.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
