Fire strikes building in downtown DC

WASHINGTON - Emergency crews responded to a fire in the 1700 block of M Street in downtown D.C. Tuesday.

Smoke could be seen coming from the building just before 11 a.m. Authorities believe the fire was contained to a building that was undergoing renovations.

No injuries have been reported.

Nearby streets were closed for a short time while fire crews were on the scene.
