Fire in 85 foot tall trash pile at Montgomery County incinerator plant contained by emergency crews

DICKERSON, Md. - Dozens of emergency crews worked overnight to contain a fire in an 85 foot tall pile of trash at an incinerator plant in Montgomery County.

The pile of trash and debris, which is roughly eight stories tall and over 200 foot wide, broke out at a facility on Martinsburg Road in Dickerson, Md. around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The fire had been contained but not extinguished Friday morning. Crews will continue to monitor the smoldering pile and will remain on the scene until the fire is out. No injuries have been reported.
