Fire damages house, destroys police cruiser in Damascus

Authorities are investigating after a house and a police cruiser were both found on fire in a neighborhood in Montgomery County.

The fire was reported around 3 a.m. on the 26600 block of Haney Avenue in Damascus.

Both the house and vehicle were on fire when firefighters arrived. Ammunition in the cruiser was believed to have exploded as a result of the flames.

Two people inside of the home were transported for minor smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

The house suffered heavy damage and the cruiser was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
