Event caterer stabbed and killed by Fairfax County Park employee
CHANTILLY, Va. - A 35-year-old woman is dead after being stabbed by a seasonal employee following an altercation at an event in Ellanor C. Lawrence Park.
The altercation was between Tyonne D. Johns, a caterer for an event at the park, and Kempton A. Bonds, 19, of Clifton, a seasonal employee of the Fairfax County Park Authority.
Police say the two had a verbal disagreement at the beginning of the event, and as it came to an end Bonds stabbed Johns with a knife.
Johns was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and pronounced dead by medical staff.
Bonds was taken into custody and transported to a local police station before being moved to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond.
