UNDATED (AP) -- "The day will come when Lucious Lyon will return."

That's the vow Terrence Howard's character makes at the of end of the season finale of "Empire." The runaway FOX hit ended Wednesday night with recording mogul Lucious Lyon arrested for murder.

He blames his ex-wife Cookie for ratting him out.

Earlier in the show, Lucious told his shocked family that he was misdiagnosed and doesn't have ALS.

He also named his son Jamal as his successor at Empire Entertainment, setting up a hostile takeover plot by his other two sons, Hakeem and Andre, and their mother, Cookie.

As Lucious says at the end show, "Don't fool yourselves, this is only the beginning."
