Emergency track work causing Metro delays along Green line

Emergency track work on Metro's Green line may affect your morning commute Friday.

Metro officials say the unscheduled track work is necessary to replace about 100 feet of rail near the Columbia Heights Station. The work began Thursday night.

On their website, Metro said:

- Customers traveling to/from Downtown DC should consider the Red Line via Fort Totten as an alternate.

- Trains are single tracking between U Street & Georgia Avenue due to track work. Expect delays in both directions.
