Driver dead after SUV collides with train in Beltsville

BELTSVILLE, Md. - The driver of an SUV is dead after police say the vehicle collided with a train early Tuesday morning in Prince George's County.

The accident happened around 3:40 a.m. along the 11500 block of Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville.

Investigators say the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead on the scene. Baltimore Avenue, between Naples Avenue and Garrett Avenue, was closed for several hours following the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
