Arrest after unauthorized man on Metro's Red Line tracks near Judiciary Square causes delays

Metro officials say a man was arrested Monday after he walked onto the tracks and into the tunnel near a Red Line station causing delays that slowed the morning commute for rush hour riders.

The incident happened around 9 a.m on the tracks near the Judiciary Square station.

Officers performed tunnel inspections and trains moved at reduced speeds for several hours while they searched for the man. He was arrested around 11 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
