Deadly accident causes delays along Interstate 70 near Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. - A person was killed in an early morning accident near Frederick, Maryland.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 70 to southbound Interstate 270. Police say a tractor trailer and multiple vehicles were involved.

The exit ramp was closed for several hours. Traffic backups extend for several miles on Interstate 70. The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time.
