The D.C. Cannabis Campaign is hosting the second of its seed giveaways on Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of District of Columbia residents lined up for the first "seed share" event on Thursday.Possession of pot became legal in the District in February after voters approved an initiative last fall. Residents are allowed to have up to 2 ounces of pot or grow up to three mature plants at home. Buying or selling the drug and smoking in public remain illegal.
It is legal to give pot away for free, and the campaign says the "seed share" events are meant to help people "enjoy the freedoms" of the new law.
