1 person in custody after ‘barricade situation' near DC/Maryland line

WASHINGTON - DC police have taken one person into custody after a situation with a "barricaded subject" near the DC/Maryland line on Monday.

The person has not been identified, nor have police indicated what charges might be made.

The incident on 4500 Western Avenue NW near the Montgomery County line was reported around 12:42 p.m.

The authorities shut down multiple streets in the area during the incident, including the 4700 block of Western Ave. NW between Westmoreland Circle and Chesapeake St. NW.

Montgomery County police are also at the scene.
